S. Whitney Rahman concentrates her practice in the areas of labor and employment law, as well as litigation. Ms. Rahman primarily represents management in a variety of employment-related matters before administrative agencies and in court. Ms. Rahman also counsels employers on issues such as employment discrimination, wrongful discharge, wage and hour matters, employee leaves, reductions in force, hiring, arbitration, employment contracts, and issues related to unions.
Ms. Rahman received her undergraduate degree from Moravian College in Bethlehem, PA, graduating summa cum laude in 1980. She received her law degree from Columbia University School of Law in 1989. While at Columbia, she was a Harlan Fiske Stone scholar and a member of the editorial staff of the Law Review. Ms. Rahman was admitted to the New York Bar in 1990 and to the Pennsylvania Bar in 1991. She also is admitted to practice before the United States District Court for Eastern, Middle and Western Districts of Pennsylvania, and the United States Circuit Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit.
An active speaker on employment law issues, Ms. Rahman has served as an adjunct instructor for Penn State University's paralegal certification program, teaching employment law and civil procedure. She is a member of the New York and Pennsylvania Bar Associations, and the national and local chapters of the Society for Human Resource Management.
